We all have a lot of questions about what's coming with the new Final Cut Pro. There is a chance some of them will be answered thanks to the free webinar called "Getting Ready For Final Cut Pro X" from FilmmakingWebinars. The online event will be held on May 12, 2011 @ 10:00 AM PDT to 11:30 AM PDT and hosted by Marcelo Lewin who is the CEO and founder of NewMediaWebinars.com.

The topic will be presented by Philip Hodgetts who is widely regarded as an expert in the field of digital media production, post-production and distribution. He is especially recognized for his unique ability to understand and develop workflows across all these areas for linear and interactive media. He has more than 25 years of experience across the entire production spectrum and  is also the author of many books including "The New Now: Growing Your Production or Postproduction Business In A Changed and Changing World", "The HD Survival Handbook" or  "Simple Encoding Recipes for the Web".

FCP X is a completely and radically redesigned product from the ground up with the interface similar to iMovie. The transition to this product will require some preparation as it will bring a new way of editing. In this webinar Philip Hodgetts will show what's new with Final Cur Pro X, what he doesn't know and what he hopes FCP X will offer when it's released in June. He'll also cover other aspects connected to the new version of the suite.

Here is the agenda of the event:

  • The new timeline including magnetic timeline.
  • Pitch corrected audio skimming.
  • Compound clips, why they are different then nesting sequences.
  • Editing while ingesting
  • Auditioning, what is it?
  • New media management features.
  • "Fixing media" during ingest.
  • Background rendering.
  • Getting your FCP projects ready for X.
  • Retraining your staff.

You can attend this webinar live and for free. All you need to do is register here.
