Q&A
Why motionVFX's Motion and After Effects Templates are better than others?
First of all, quality of our templates has been approved by Apple as official Third-Party Templates developer: http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/resources/plugins.html ![]()
Our templates are created the way so you can modify any element. Most of other templates developers put just an animated QT background created in other software with text on it and call it a template. MotionVFX doesn't do that. MotionVFX does much more to keep highest quality possible – we create high definition and high quality templates with elements which can be changed any time and any way – that's real beauty of real “template”.
What happens after the purchase?
Your payment needs to be verified first, so you'll not receive your download link right away. We've updated payment system to ensure our client's transactions are safe.
For the security reasons and to keep our customers safety, we've adopted online fraud checking system, so EVERY payment needs to be checked and after the payment is done, the system is busy checking the fraud status of your payment. Please be patient. It's an automatic system and usually takes around an hour but may take up to few hours.
YOU'LL RECEIVE ANOTHER EMAIL WITH THE DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTION AFTER YOUR TRANSACTION IS APPROVED.
In case of problems, you can always reach us at info@motionvfx.com.
If you haven't received your link then you can do 2 things: send us email asking for resending it or you can login into your account (on the right top of this site) where you'll find your "Order history" and the download link.
Also, before writing us, please make sure the emails sent from @motionvfx.com domain has not been blocked by your spam filter or your email server. If so, please drop as a mail and we will reply with the download link as soon as possible. We highly recommend adding our domain name into your whitelist.
I bought your templates and all i get some HTML code when I'm trying to download them.
It happens when your browser tries to open the file instead of saving it. You can either change your browser settings or right click on the link and choose "Download Linked File" - Safari will automatically save it into your Downloads folder.
Can our Motion Templates speed/resolution be changed from 24fps/HD to 25/PAL or 29.97/NTSC?
Yes. Our templates are based on “frames” which means, even we are using animated backgrounds, they are frames instead of ready Quick Time files what makes it possible
How can I convert Motion HD Template into any other resolution or SD project?
Please open one of motionVFX HD templates then create your empty SD scene and keep both opened. In motionVFX HD template, please select all layers, group it and Drag&Drop it into your empty SD project then scale it down. Save your new SD project. This way you'll convert resolution and the speed. Yes, it's that easy.
Above rule applies to 2D scenes. 3D projects works the same way, but you need to separate 2D from 3D layers and move them separately or do it by exporting (rendering) the footage and scaling it down as a post process.
Can I change time of motionVFX Motion Templates?
As mentioned above, they are very flexible and each element has separate timeline and can be extended in time.
Can I use your Motion Templates with Final Cut Pro?
Yes, you can access our templates from FCP just like other template created by Apple. All Apple templates are created the same way that our templates. All you have to do after purchasing any template is, open it in Motion and then choose File > Save As Template and then you'll be able to access it from FCS. Please notice that not every element can be modified in FCP - just text entry, tracking, dropzones and size.

Can I open Motion 4 Template in Motion 3?
(Tip by: Mark Spencer)
Yes, you can open a Motion 4 project in Motion 3.
1) Launch TextEdit
2) Choose File > Open, navigate to the Motion 4 project file, and open it.
It opens in TextEdit and looks like this:

3) On the third line, where it says , change the 4 to a 3.
4) Save
That’s it! Your Motion 4 project will now open in Motion 3. Of course, any Motion 4 features, such as reflections, shadows, depth of field, or new behaviors WON'T work, but all Motion 3 features should work fine.
(motionVFX): Remember, that all Gradients used in such project converted back to Motion 3 will NOT work as well.
I have Motion 4 and I get error: "The document "filename" could not be opened.". What??
This is well known problem discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3061
Can our After Effects Templates be used in After Effects CS3 or earlier?
No. After Effects is not backward compatible
How can I resize After Effects Templates?
