Using the MotionVFX brand
The basics
We have created this guide to help you use our core branding elements — our logo, name, colors, and typography elements.
We cherish our brand, so before you start using its components, we ask you to make yourself familiar with our brand guidelines and usage recommendations.
Our brand name
The name MotionVFX summarizes our primary fields of work: motion design and visual effects. The correct spelling and capitalization of our name is essential to us, so be sure to use appropriate forms.
MotionVFX — the standard form, used whenever you write texts mentioning our company or products, describe your amazing edits obtained with our products, or make a short note to a friend.
motionvfx.com — the all-lowercase form appears only in the address of our website.
MOTIONVFX — the all-caps form appears in our logotype and may be used within texts written in all capital letters, e.g. as a part of a discount code.
Product names
We want our product branding to convey clarity and consistency, which is why we use the lowercase m trademark prefix as the first letter of our pack names:
mProduct — mMessage, mTravel, mChannel...
Misuse
Please watch out for these common mistakes:
* motionVFX Always capitalize the name, except in URLs.
* Motionvfx Remember to capitalize the final VFX.
* Motion VFX Do not insert a space.
* MFX Nope.
* M Tuber 2 The “m” prefix (as in: mTuber 2) is lowercase and is
not followed by space.
Logo
Our brand signature
Two specific versions of the MotionVFX logo are registered: the complete logo and the icon on its own.
Inverted (white) versions are not acceptable.
The basics
Our logo is the most essential part of our brand. That’s why we love it, are protective of it and ask you to use it according to our brand guidelines.
When using our logo, always preserve its original color theme: the white “M” mark placed on a black circle.
If you need to use the logo on a dark background, please use the version with outline around the icon included in the download.
Don’t alter or modify the logo.
Clearing space
The minimum clearing space of the logo is 3/4 of the icon diameter from the left, full diameter from the right, and half the diameter from top and bottom.
The clearing space of the icon used alone is half its diameter.
When scaling the logo, make sure the icon is not smaller than 16 pixels.
Colors
Remember, the MotionVFX logo is always black and white. When placing the logo or icon on an image, do not invert their colors. Only the wordmark can be inverted, and only when used alone or with the outlined version of the icon.
For images with a dark background, we suggest applying a 10–20% white tint to the entire image so that the black wordmark is legible.
Some exceptions to these rules may be granted. In specific instances you can use the white “M” mark alone on a dark background. Please reach out to us for approval.
Misuse
We care about the legibility and character of our logo, so it should be used only in the permitted versions.
There are several types of misuse we would like to prevent in particular.
- Don’t colorize the wordmark or the icon.
- Don’t use the logo with inverted colors.
- Don’t use a background that interferes with legibility.
- Don’t change the shape, proportions or position of parts of the logo.
- Don’t change the typeface in the wordmark.
- Don’t add any elements to the logo.
- Don’t use blurry or low quality images of the logo.
- Don’t colorize the wordmark or the icon.
- Don’t use the logo with inverted colors.
- Don’t use a background that interferes with legibility.
- Don’t change the typeface in the wordmark.
- Don’t change the shape, proportions or position of parts of the logo.
- Don’t add any elements to the logo.
- Don’t use blurry or low-quality logo.
Colors
Core colors
Black and white are our primary brand colors. They are used for main texts and backgrounds. The medium gray is intended for secondary texts and labels. The lighter grays may be used for backgrounds when visual separation of layout elements is needed.
Secondary colors
When designing graphic content related to MotionVFX, you can use these secondary colors sparingly.
Interface colors
Additional colors that match well with Final Cut Pro’s dark theme and are used in plugin interfaces.
Typography
Proxima Nova
We chose Proxima Nova as our primary typeface. It is used in our logotype, throughout MotionVFX branding and on our website.
Nunito Sans
Nunito Sans is our secondary typeface. We use it in our plugin interfaces.
