Over the course of 3 decades, John Truby has taught more than 30,000 students the art of screenwriting. He runs screenwriting classes (also online) and he has provided his knowledge and expertise as a consultant on over 1,000 movie scripts. In screenwriting, story is king and there are many techniques that you can use while creating your script (from story strategy to scene sequencing to setting up and paying off scene patterns to blending dialogue). If you're a writer or an indie filmmaker and you write your scripts on your own, you will be pleased to watch these three videos featuring John Truby, who shares some thoughts on the screenwriting process and who explains the difference between a movie idea from a television idea. But is there still a big difference between TV and cinema in the aspect of storytelling? Watch the video below to find out!

If you want to learn more on screenwriting, you might check out Truby's website (here).
