Who doesn't want to make life easier? We all know that shooting can be a pain and there's a lot of stuff that you need to keep in mind in order to avoid chaos. But now we have the iPad (and the iPhone) that can be useful in many situations and help us get the job done. Here's an app that seems to be a must-have on the set. It is called "Shot Lister" and you can use it... you guessed it... - to list your shots! In other words it allows you to keep track of your progress and stick to your plan.

The app has some small flaws - you cannot create call lists and you cannot log takes within shots, but future updates will surely bring more features and solve this minor issues. Also make sure to watch the tutorial below:

Here's the list of features (via iTunes):

Use Shot Lister and share it’s files on any iOS device, as well as full Retina Display Support.

Easily organize and store hundreds of scenes and thousands of shots with the flick of a finger

The only software available to easily create a shooting schedule on a shot by shot and minute by minute basis.

Experience the truly ground breaking “Live” production mode to know exactly how you are doing on set to the minute, and re-organize the day in a matter of seconds.

Every project and director is different, customize and order every category throughout the app to your taste and needs. Also features a 24HR time preference.

Assign shots to different cameras and group them together to be shot simultaneously. Supports up to 11 cameras

Export PDFs of your shot list with or without estimated times, or share the entire Shot Lister project file via email with other crew members.

Build shot lists in Excel or Numbers using our templates from our website then import them directly into Shot Lister

On iPad, display your entire shooting schedule as a calendar, just like the production board in the office.

The app costs right now $9.99 - but it's a limited time offer. You can grab your copy here.

Shot Lister is pretty awesome but needs improvement. I've been using shot lister for a few months but writing each new shot becomes tedious. So for the past few weeks I've been using Action Pro and I like almost everything about it I like the fact that the shot lists are automatically generated for you based on your storyboards, really awesome stuff
