    FIRST PRIZE
    Elsewhere
    by Majo
“I’m a filmmaker and video editor from Spain, currently running a tiny two-person production company together with my partner Chris, who’s originally from Austria. It’s the first time I’ve used MotionVFX but I love it. What sticks out is that the tools aren’t just stylish overlays — they’re deeply customizable and let us fine-tune everything from grain size to color grading to match the exact tone and mood we’re aiming for. Working on the contest entry brought back a lot of emotion and reminded me why I’m so passionate about editing.”

    Music Therapy
    by Oppo of DOSOPPOS
“My journey as a video editor began out of necessity. I wanted to create music videos for my own music, but I didn’t know any editors, so I taught myself. It wasn’t a main focus of mine until after a car crash left me paralyzed. While in recovery and adjusting to my new life, I found myself with the time and patience to explore it more seriously. Music was always art but after my accident, it became my therapy. For this competition, I wanted to tell the story of my lifelong relationship with music and how it’s evolved over the years from teen punk rebellion to acoustic melodies, to hip-hop beats and lyricism, to healing and expression after the trauma. MotionVFX made it easy for me to bring that story to life. Whether I’m looking for subtle realism or bold effects, their tools help me create the exact mood I envision.”

    “Memories”
    by Markis Hernandez
“This contest was really fun to me because it’s been a while since I’ve dug into my old hard drives to look at footage so it was a trip down memory lane especially with my daughter growing up and looking back at her as a newborn.”

    It was all about them
    by Kurt Fernandes
“Growing up, I would lock myself in a room and make tech videos, then I would put up on YouTube. This is the way I learn the art of filmmaking and the art of video editing.”
